I got one flare bonded and I found replacement rubber trailing arm bushings. Now you're not stuck with delrin or urethane. Paragon Products has a set for the 911. (4 identical bushings) The outers are the same but the inners need 1/2" cut from them to fit. They have a note about this under the listing so I called and asked. they fit perfectly.

I'm using 3M 08115 Automix Panel adhesive. I bought it on e-bay with the applicator gun. I think the gun was about $40 and the epoxy is $32. I only did one flare because I used more than 1/2 of the one 500ml cartridge for the first flare. Another cartridge should be here today.
I used this because the tech rep from 3M recomended it. |

Pretty sure this is only exciting for me... but. I finally managed to get my car through smog yesterday. It's been off the road with a mystery problem since January. Hired mechanics to fix it with no luck. Finally, through Pelican forum and here and my brothers comment, i tracked the problem down to the DITC connector.
This is my daily, so it's a huge weight off my mind.
Gonna take it for a drive through Big Sur to celebrate.
Man, it's so good to feel the thrust of the turbo again. _________________ 1982 Porsche 931 (Sold)

Well the right side is ready for outer body prep for flair install.
The number 8 framing screws idealy, used in .25 guage metal
I put 2 in each tab & on the ends 3 inch off angle. Its ready to
be rubberised with coating. I can now do the same to the left side.
Then I can bond my flairs..
Today Im shooting for getting the front inner fenderwells
all free of old coating, left side is bout done probly a few hrs
there before i start on the other side.
Also front calipers need cleaned, stripped and repainted
Hubs need to be blasted after I stripped them...dont ever paint
five lug front hubs, and the inner frame rails on the body & control
arms need attention before i finish by drillen the under side of the nose panel ... after all this is done I can start on the body work.
& of course out that time Ill be planning cooler install and removing
turbo motor.
Sounds like to much info though its not. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na

Well, ive been pretty busy the past couple of months sourcing the parts to convert the front end to an S2/Turbo look. Now im just sanding down the body, then a lot of fiberglassing, bondo and paint. I should have a good looking toofah by the end!
... i just got to figure out how to fiberglass the back end together. The rear bumper was meant for a 944 so as you can see it doesnt like the CGT Flares. _________________ 1977 Porsche 924

Took a nice drive downtown and around to the lake front, most beautiful day yet in Wisconsin, 78 degrees. As I was driving by the lake, I spotted a black 928 following right behind me. I can't ask for a better time in the Porsche then this. _________________ White 1987 Porsche 924S manual |
