So, I need a new fuel pump. Any suggestions on what I should do?

My car is the 78 non turbo, with an external pump.

Thanx in advance.

Here's the direct link with info. The Pierburg unit, from what I've seen, will replace all external 924 and 931 pumps:

any pump which puts out 50 or so psi with the right capacity will work. I got a replacement off of a VW which works fine but I could have used a RV water pump. Needless to say, I am not a "purist" who insists on genuine Porsche parts. I just want my vehicle to run.

What model of vw pump would you use. a 924 only needs 50 or so psi at the inlet if I am correct.

By the way I just ordered a Pierburg Pump, and they are currently out. They have to back order it (2-3 weeks for them to get it, then 1 more to get to you) They told me to expect at least a month turn around.

By the way for those of you following my little story of getting my car running. I finally got my Bosch fuel pump to work (At least turn on...), but I have decided to go with a quieter pump...plus, they only wanted $135 for it!!!
