My 931 has a noticeable flat spot in power delivery at around 3,000 RPM then comes on strong again around 3,400 RPM but not pulling as hard as before the lag. It's not extreme, but just enough to bug me and make me wonder what's causing it

Timing is set stock (20 BTDC @ 2,000 RPM), but no way of telling if the centrifigal advance is working perfectly; vac advance seems fine. Boost is 12

any clues?

I've been wondering about those micro switches by the throttle. I suspect the one that is closed (opened) at around that RPM . . . what do these things do, anyway?

one switch is for full throttle enrichment the other is for idle. You may have an exhaust leak at the turbo.
