I want to lower the front of my 924 2.0 (budget) track car.
In Holland I can only get lowering springs up to 20mm lower.
But I want to go lower. A few questions:
- Will 944 turbo spings be lower ?
- Can I use stock beetle springs ?
- How low can you go ? _________________ 937 trackday car

Could you use something like this? -
<click>
They'd lower while keeping you well within a budget, + be easy to implement. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

So how exactly are these things...
s'posed to work?? Do you just use them to compress some of the coils in the stock springs? And then adjust the rear ride height? _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

No, I don't like that solution, I rather cut of a few rings of the spring. _________________ 937 trackday car

Why not buy the correct lowering springs from some other country? _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

There are 3 choices that I know of, they are 200lb, 220lb, and 250lb.
The 220lb (which I'm using, retain the stock height (which is what I wanted)).
The 200lb and 250lb allegedly lower by something in the range of 1.25"(32mm) to 1.5"(38mm).
A Search for all terms on 200 250 springs lower brings up a few relevant topics.
Here's one - http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=17067 , but look through them all. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

Cutting the springs will increase the spring rate.
This might be the ideal solution for you, because you may want to increase the spring rate for your track car. You can both lower your car and increase the spring rate at the same time by cutting your springs.
Be careful -- I doubt this procedure is reccommended by many, since a subsequent spring failure might be uncomfortable. Also, measure several times before you cut to make sure you end up with your desired lengths -- different if you're redneck racing (not that there's anything wrong with that), or the same if you're roadcourse racing. _________________ 78 924 NA

Agreed, the 250lb Welt springs lowered my car, but not as much as advertised. _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |

If I'd do it over again, I'd go coil overs for sure, my next suspension mod will be front coilovers. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

If I understand it right, I can also use the standard springs and just lower the coilcover from the strut ? I don't need adjustable ones. _________________ 937 trackday car
