| since you have the power to set all the perfomance settings, make this car a beast, there is no reason to keep it close to stock. make it a blast to drive. give it 17"x50 tires and give it a giant wing, what if you have to get around traffic in a tunnel, how are you gonna climb the walls and drive on the cieling without awsome traction and down force ?.this way if you ever post for the general public to use, word will spread that the 924 is / was a monster. so powerful it dominates the track.all the little kiddies ( at heart ) will grow up remembering the 924.so what if you start an arms race . |

Sure, d-12, it's a little loose - I did say it's pretty close in handling! That's how I like my car. If you don't like it, I suggest tweaking the tire pressures - reduce the rears (no less than 30psi), or raise the fronts (no higher than 40). That should help balance it to where you like it.
Right now, with even tire pressures (as I run at the track), it's what I'd consider neutral. Generally light understeer in power-on cornering, except maybe higher-speed corners where a little correction is needed, and it pivots easily with a little brake or lift-throttle. Very tossable, and very good turn-in.
But yeah, it's underpowered. What you've driven is how it feels. It sucks, but it's real. That's why I'v trying to build some motor into it.
Teo pointed out a key point - the weight for the car is 2600lbs, and he said it seems heavy. Actually, that's spec weight for my car, and my racecar actually weighs 2610, very close to curb weight of the stock car. Part of the weight lost through stripping the interior has been replaced by the cage. Part of it has been replaced by installing 80lbs of lead and the compact spare (30lbs). If you want to feel what my car is _capable_ of, try taking off 110 lbs. Again, it's not the fastest yet, but it's accurate.
Keep in mind that taking that weight off may adversely affect the handling balance. I changed the power curve last night to that of the 931, changing nothing else, and the handling was all understeer again. Evidently, it's very sensitive, and I know it took plenty of time to get it right as is.
Now what we really need is 924 graphics!!!

ITA #77 takes 3rd in 944 Trophy!
Today ITA #77 924 sponsored by 924.org had taken 3rd in NFS:PU 944 Trophy. The trophy took place in Schwarzwald, Industrial Zone and in the Alps, #77 took 4th in Schwarzwald, 3rd in the Industrial Zone and 1st in the Alps, finishing 3rd overall! The 2.0 924 showed some exceptional handling compared to the 'biggie-boy' 944's and 944 Turbos, and despite the "half-the-power-under-the-hood" syndrome she finished way ahead of them in the Alps.
Check out the race videos:
