can the EGR system on an early '77 na, be easily removed? would it give any performance increase? just curious

Easy to remove, but the hole on the exhaust end has to be plugged. I used the giant nut off the tube with a bunch of pennies siliconed inside it. If the valve on top is in good shape leave it.
