If anyone wants to have a 924 or 924 turbo created for NFS Porsche Unleashed....
Take this link and support my request for some one to write a download for the 924. Others have had their cars programs created. If we get enough support some one might just make the code we need to play.

Hello,
I've heard before that they're is a 924 turbo in the Playstation version of NFS:PU, but I've never played the PSX version. There are downloadable 968 & 968 Turbo RS for NSF4 but I can't find them now.
Chris
P.S. If you play online NFS:PU look for me my name is Nasafo |

wdb,
uhhmm, anything database thingie involved in a 924 for NFS-PU? I can deal with a few hundred million rows of data, but not with those graphic stuff
But wait, what about Peter_in_AU, the boardmaster?

| I know squat about code and programing,I didnt know there was a difference between the two(data base and graphics). but I'm curious, about how long would it take for some one who knows what thier doing to write the code for a 924 in that game? a day or two or are we talking weeks.an educated guess will be fine. |

a day or two is my vote
if you take a look at the '82 944 in the game, there's not much to do with that to transform it to a '24. Some bodywork, replace 2.5 with 2.0 in the engine description and it's ready. The stock '82 944 is doing 0-60 mph in about 10 sec. so there's nothing do performancewise.
And it's not even coding, it's graphics and some typing. Even if you are correcting for the engine, it's only typing in the corrected physical parameters.

| I have the NFS-Porsche Unleashed on my Playstation (amazing game BTW for those who are without) and I can attest to there being both a 924 Turbo and a 924 Carrera GT available in the Quick Races. No 924S though... pity! |

a day or two...
ok, I got something similar to a 924 in NFS:PU
made by mixing the 944 and 928GTS together, then corrected the physical data, it's getting close now.
Not counting the shape of a 944 combined with the sound of a 928...
- but I needed to inherit it from the 928, because I couldn't edit the 944 gear ratios, the prog. overrides the parameters given in the file. Uh, and the needles are a little bit incorrect.
- the shape of the 944 is the best I can do here, as there's no easy way to edit the shape of the cars, if there's any.
The physical parameters can be edited easily, but I don't have the power curve for the different versions, so I just punched some numbers in. If any of you guys have some HP/RPM data that would help. (especially for the euro 125HP version that I have )
I made five different cars:
1. 924, general 924, inherited from the 944, so it has the sound and the needles are right, but it has the default 944 gearbox. Can be used in evolution.
the rest: same base with different gearboxes.
These can be used only in Singleplayer, not in Evolution.
Some params, correct them if needed:
Weight: 1100 kg / 2422 lbs
Vmax: 225 km/h / 140 mph
Tires: 195/65 R14
Redline: 6600 rpm
This is the HP/RPM I used:
RPM HP
0 32 (ok, ok copied it from 944)
500 68
1000 72
1500 90
2000 99
2500 110
3000 113
3500 115
4000 117
4500 120
5000 122
5500 125
6000 122
6500 118
7000 70
Here's the file: http://web.matavnet.hu/teoinfo/p924/nfs924.zip
to install copy to the NFS:PU dir, eg: c:Program FilesElectronic ArtsNeed For Speed - Porsche Unleashed
and unzip
and the savegame:
http://web.matavnet.hu/teoinfo/p924/8924.sav*
save this in the SaveGame folder
Teo
still working on it...
update:
Savegame is not needed now as I replaced the above zip with another one and the savegame is included in that. And there are only two cars in there. The general and a 4sp.

here are the numbers for a Euro 924 NA as calculated by my Dyno2000 simulation http://www.planb.net.au/Peter/dyno2000.924na.jpg.
My 12 year old son seem sure that there is a 924 in the "2000" version of the game. The 2000 version is "Unleashed" for the UK/Aus market presumably using right-hand drive cars - don't know for sure, I've never played it. |

| thats what this site is about, sharing your knowledge, skills, and abilities. I believe it is possible to reproduce the boby in carbon fiber with lexan windows and recast the engine in all aluminum, get down to around 1500lbs 600kilos or so. and a newly designed short stroke 3L turbo motor capable of 10,000 RPM's would you pay 15000.oo for a car like that ? |

so guys,
anyone have tried the 924 in NFS:PU?
Thanx Peter_in_au for the data on the 924 NA, works fine.
I still need that data for the 931.
when I'll have that, I will make this two car based on the 944 (I already have the 924 designation on the back), can't change the gear ratios in that, but it's pretty close.

OK, so we got a PC game version? I'll have to try it out... see if it feels like the racecar!!!
Maybe I'll have a chance tonight, will let you guys know...
Gonna have to work on those bitmaps, or whatever they use for the graphics... maybe I can take photos of my racecar, convert them to the appropriate files, and paste them on the 928 body! Close enough...
Then upload to the website, of course!
Actually, if this works well - should be put in as part of the 924.org download files... hmm...

One more thing, Teo - could you send me some info (on my home email) about how to edit the physical data? If it's not too hard to work with, I'd like to look it over, and perhaps match it as closely as possible to my racecar... I have plenty of data about the physical details of the car, and want to see if I can match it also to the subjective performance, in the game, of the car.
If I can make the progress I hope to, I'll be happy to share the results with everyone... then you can all drive my car!
