Well then update your way . I forget who said it or what they said but it was along the lines of "stagnation is the root of idiocy". It had stagnation in it and said something about how if u don't change your opinion when u find new info then u suck. Hey, that class wasn't a complete waste after all _________________ 90 944 S2

i have always felt the following cars had similar body styles:
porsche 924
porsche 928
ferrari daytona
datsun z
nissan z
mazda rx-7
the nissan is just a derivative of the datsun z. when did the datsun z come out? regardless i think porsche did the best job perfecting the look. _________________ '82 931

Datsun was Nissan when they first started to import cars. They thought that nisaan sounded too japanese and that it would be resented in the post war generation. they eventually went to Nissan sometime after _________________ 1987 924S Guards Red

the 240Z came out late '60's/ early 70's(?)i know it was styled by a famous german stylist who had done a few cars i cant remember ( )and was the first real successful japanese sports car.
from memory the 928 design came first (not produced till 1978 tho), the 924 was designed on the same principle layout of the 928 ; ie: watercooled front engine, rear g/b/ diff; and came off the drawing board 1975 started production 1976. (sorry i cant remember which book i read this in)
RX7's joined the game 1978 and with the series 4/5 (2nd gen for americans?) RX7, porsche took mazda to court and won re: styling issues _________________ '86 944 |

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. They make a set of stickers to fit into the embossed Porsche lettering for the back, but I'm not sure I want it. The wheels are going in favor of 928S4 flat-dish. I'll try to take some interior pictures tomorrow, and maybe put the flat-dish on tomorrow as well.
And I promise I'll take that sticker off of the back, too.
Gotta get cracking on the smog equipment so I can finish getting the car registered. _________________ Jon Furst |

What about removing those silly american bumper extensions.
I've been told the 928s had very heavy clutches, can anyone confirm this? _________________ Chris

I think that pre-1983 had heavy clutches, the multi-plate ones. Those are pretty prone to clutch chatter too. Also, I hear that the synchros wear out quickly on the pre-1986 models, before they switched the Borg-Warner ones. _________________ 1979 Porsche 924 "S"
