Hey everybody -
I want to inspect this area of my car to check the hoses and lines. What is the procedure to get at it? It's inside the trunk, passenger side, gas filler neck area.
After I remove the carpet - what is my next step?
I put a pic that I found on another site.
Thanks in advance.

You should see the plastic cover over the fuel-filler hose. Remove that, careful, it's made out of saltine crackers, very brittle, and you'll end up as in the photo. The other hoses to check, are the ones underneath, the oem hoses before and after the fuel pump can get leaky. And, for additional fun, if your tank is near empty, remove the internal fuel filter. Replace that and the big 'S' shaped fuel hose from tank to fuel pump. Both are available at Pelican Parts. _________________ '83 944 Track car.

Old thread i know.
Is it possible to replace the hose from the filler neck to the tank without dropping the tank? Im working my way around the car i just purchased and developing a punch list. I get a gas smell when tank is full and I also note the tank builds a lot of pressure. Which is probably why the PO removed the gas cap seal that I replaced. I assume that problem is related to a clogged pressure relief valve that I read people use the valve from the Mitsu Montero to replace. Or a jammed charcoal canister.
When people talk about the hoses on the top side of the fuel tank, is it the filler hose and the tank vent hose? Just those 2? _________________ 1979 Porsche 924 2.0 33K miles
