As the title suggests, does anyone at all have the porsche spec for the “snail shell” gearbox? Our manuals only have the audi 016/8 and 016/9 pin depth figures and want to confirm whether it is the same or different than the Getrag G31 box?
For reference the diff housing cases are entirely different shapes and the G31 has an open diff whereas the 016’s have an LSD. Not sure if the crown wheel is transferrable to the LSD, if so, this would suggest they’d have the same factory dimensions and therefore the pin depth would be the same because the measurement is taken from the centre axis?
I have searched the internet high and low for any sort of figure but have come up with nothing, any help is appreciated. |

Hmmm, this is a timely reminder that I need to retrieve my Turbo manual from the shop... though I did scan the gearbox section IIRC, have to dig that out and see if there is a spec... will let you know... _________________ Vaughan Scott

I'm not too sure exactly what the "pin depth" is... want me to email you the docs I've scanned? It's all the G31-specific pages for rebuild.
If so, PM me through the board... _________________ Vaughan Scott
