Hello everyone!

This is my first post on this forum! I have learned a lot from the forum and it answered many of my questions I hope you can help me out on this question aswell.

I am restoring my Porsche 1979 924 and am currently working on the rear suspension. The suspension is mounted on to the body on a few places. I would like to replace them all and I have found out that there are a few solid mounts avalible. These replace 477 501 089 and 944 331 075 00

Has anyone installed these mounts before? How does this effect the handling? Is there a possibility that it wil crack or damage the body in any way on the mounting locations as there is no rubber anymore?

I will be using my car as a street car and won't be on track regularly.

If these mounts are a good option then I will probably be making them myself, because the prices on these simple pieces of metal are absolutely ridiculous.

Ryan

Remember that the 76-77 actually have no rubber at all, the rear axle is solidly mounted to the chassis. They early cars did get complains about road noise when they were released, but its not that bad

I solid mounted mine, don't notice any noise issues really.

Thinking about solid mount strut tops next when I put lowering springs on the front.

Hello everyone,

I've recently asked for some information on solidmounting the torisonbar type rear suspension on my Porsche 924. After looking at the possebilities I've found that these solid mounst are very expensive.

The mounts I am talking about are these: 477 501 089 and 944 331 075 00

The solidmount replacements cost about 250 to 300 euro's for a set of four, which is a lot for a simple mount.

So I have descided to make my own from stainless steel.

These are the mounts I have designed:

I'm making these mounts for myself, but if some is interested please let me know. I think I will be able to make them for atleast half the price.

PS: I don't know if the images work, haven't done this before.
