I have finally gotten the fasteners from the oil pan and it should be dropping but it seems to be hung up somewhere on the left rear. I have the 3 bolts out from the bell housing so I don’t believe that’s the issue. If anyone has any guidance on how to remove it please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Hey mate, the oil pan is a mirror on both sides in terms of bolt pattern. I'll attach a video of me assembling mine so you can see all the bolt locations. Things can get cruddy and hidden easily, once you are sure everything is loose. A few bumps with your palm or soft strikes with a rubber mallet will break it free. After a few bumps if its still stuck, check for forgotten bolts as it shouldn't take too much work to get it free.

Awesome vid, thanks for sending. I tried to loosen up the left engine mount thinking that was the interference but still can’t get the pan down. Beyond frustrating.

Not budging at all?
If you removed all fasteners, it may have been glued by someone, but usually there is a missed bolt...

The pan itself is loose and I'm able to move it around. I tried to loosen the left hand engine mount thinking that would give enough clearance but still no luck.

Engine still in the car then? You need to remove the cross member or at least lower it enough to clear the oil pickup in the sump.

The engine is still installed on the car, and the cross member/steering rack has been removed. I neglected to mention that there is an EGR line that goes under the pan. At first I thought that the line was providing interference but I've loosened the line for more clearance but that wasn't the issue.

Maybe it's getting caught up on the oil pickup itself? I seem to remember having to tilt and lean the pan to get it to clear and seat right over the pickup.
Try tilting and leaning it side to side, make sure all the bolts are out before you go crazy on it. Take some pictures so we can get a better idea of your situation. and you can upload them here with imgur or other picture hosting sites.

Unclear if it's off the flange or not; if it is off the flange, then yes my bet is it's hanging on the pickup.

To clear this, you definitely need to extract it perpendicular to its mounting face on the block. There's an internal baffle that the pickup works around, which is why it can be tricky.

If you haven't meaningfully moved it from the flange (1cm or better), then you've missed a bolt.

If you can see this photo, it might help give some idea of what you're working around:

Sounds like I need to wiggle it from around the pickup. Wish me luck! Thanks.

Im doing the same in my 931 atm, seems like it gets stuck on that little oil pan tab up there against the engine mount bracket. I dont remember if its the same on the n/a. I think i might have to remove the bracket somehow. I have an oil pan baffle which will make it even trickier to get that oil pickup out of the way. Anyway, im out of swear words atm, will give it a new try later...

Yeah, I've never pulled mine without removing that engine mount.

I just throw a precision-cut 4x4" timber across the fenders (cut to fit inside the lip, so the paint can't be damaged) and hang the engine from a chain wrapped around the timber.
