Happy 9-24 all!

I am celebrating by attempting to get my G31 transmission back together today. I don't have a running and driving 924 currently, but if three broke ones added up to one good one I'd be out for a spin on a country road..

What are you all doing?

Add another not working one and I'm in the same boat. Currently resealing and cleaning entire motor and accessories for my 1979 NA, need to bolt on last few odds and ends and its pretty much good to go back in. On the flipside I just got the motor pulled out of my new 77 slicktop and it is a complete paperweight...
so I will be trying to salvage the head and swap in a block from my 1980 Donor car. All the meanwhile the turbo car isn't getting touched and is stuffed in a corner waiting for her turn. Once I get the engine back in my 79 the only thing left is to get the AC working and have the seats reupholstered than I'm thinking of selling to fund my other projects and desires. The 77 motor will get the same treatment and I will begin resealing it as parts arrive. Even though my turbo has no interior, this 77 by far has the longest road ahead of it. What did you wind up doing to your g31?

Happy 9/24!

We observed it racing the #77 924 at our local track, Waterford Hills, with both its and driver Merritt's first race there in years... our first time running in H Prod configuration, and with a little help from some spotty weather secured both the first pole and first win in class!

Unfortunately, the clutch cable snapped after a spin with two laps to go, but as the other HP cars had already retired she retained the win. Easy fix swapping in a spare, and out first thing this morning for Emergency practice to make sure everything's OK.

More rain right now (Sunday morning), continues to look iffy today, so we may be looking at more similar results today... though one competitor is headed home after some self-induced damage, and we have yet to see if the other makes it back out...

A few pics from yesterday on our Facebook page:

I remember being younger and seeing some of your photos and other guys from the board driving mountain roads and feeling inspired.
I'll make a short video with all the photos and videos we recorded this weekend.

Thanks for the pictures! Wish I could have at least been turning wrenches on mine, but was just finishing up a tour of England... Anyway, I'll have to mark my calendar and plan to do what I call the Beartooth loop next year. Progress is slow on mine, but hoping to have it on the road well before then! What I call the Beartooth loop involves driving Chief Joseph Highway (WY296) towards Cooke City and the NE entrance to Yellowstone Park, then taking a right onto The Beartooth Pass (US212) to Red Lodge. Either make it a true loop by taking HWY72, or reverse the course; either way, it's a lot of twisty roads, hairpins, and so on; well worth the drive. Morghen, any chance you're driving the same road that was featured in the Romania Top Gear episode? Either way, it looks amazing! I've been in Romania briefly, but never got to see that area, unfortunately...

Thank you for the kind words.
That TopGear episode is filmed on the most popular mountain pass in Romania, the Transfagarasan.
This is a somewhat parallel pass more to the west, the Transalpina, its less of a hairpin style and has more twisty and smooth roads.

Here is the video i made, enjoy.
Make sure you have good headphones and set the quality to 4K from the Youtube player.

Mclaren924, I am unsticking the 2nd gear synchronizer, and learning a lot about the value of doing things when you first are into them and not letting certain projects sit for too long...

WOW that mountain drive. So beautiful, thank you for sharing!
