So have you been driving the Martini this year, Bart? Gone on any cruises or to any shows yet?

Actually I sold it.... We moved to Florida and I got killer offer on it. Car stays in Chicagoland area. Went to Fuelfed Zuffengrouppe Porsche show and took the car to the show. Everyone loved it. It is best driving and looking 924 around. Will be missed ! I would gladly restore another one if I can find it....

Man if you even broke even on it congratulations!

I sincerely hope you made all the profit in the world and that a restoration of any 924 is a feasible proposition..

Wow that looks like it has become new again, appreciate the work in getting absolutely everything off, and the desire to so, I wish I had gotten into all the crevices more now. Do let us know if you figured out how to dye faded carpet or where you found matching red. I also cannot believe how many new parts you found, amazing incredible restoration, well done. Now what?

I've been the owner of this car since last July (2023).
Been working through many little issues to get the car up to tip-top shape.

Installed a set of Maxilite spider web (turbo style) wheels with larger, modern rubber (BRG Radial TA's).

New rear hatch latches, pins and struts.

Reinstalled a period correct Blaupunkt radio as the original had been removed by an intermediate owner.

Will be re-listing it on Bring A Trailer in the next couple of months with lots of pro pics of the car.
I'd post some pics but not sure how to do it on this website.
Looks like you just can't attach pics like many of the other sites.

Please put the OE wheels back on , this car was so beautifully restored back to OE spec, would be such a shame to spoil it.

+1 seems a shame to spoil such a nicely restored 924 and such a rare model.
This is coming from a guy that always modified the 924.

The original wheels had a set of Douglas tires with 2011 date codes....that's 13 years old. Way too old and dangerous to be driving.
Gave me the perfect time to go with some bigger wheels and better rubber for the car.
The spiderwebs look great.
Instead of 165 or 185/14 tires, I was able to go with 205/60R15 and 215/60R15 tires that look great and better fill up the wheel wells.
Guys...don't worry as the original wheels are boxed up and will always stay with the car if the next owner wishes to go that direction.
They really need to be repainted as the prior owner went with a non-standard white for this Martini restoration.
He used Sand white, a paint code from a newer model.
It is not nearly as white and looks more like a light ivory instead, so the original wheels did't match the body color any more.
They didn't look right on the car.
The new Sand white does look good on this Martini nonetheless.
