Greetings,
Has anyone dealt with non-working headlamp doors? Or, perhaps an approximate cost estimate on such a repair?
Also, might someone know the approximate cost estimate on replacing a timing belt? The original repair manuals are present. I would consider myself a step up for an amateur mechanic. Is this something only left to a professional?
Any advice or information is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Tommy

Hello Tommy,
do you mean non-working pop-up headlights? If yes, if you can specify what does and doesn't work ( the pop-up part or the light part, for a start ) help will be more readily available.
Whatever it is that turns out not to work, it should be fixable and not require paying somebody else to do the work for you.
Belt. I don't do mine, I rather pay my mechanic the 70 EUR for parts and labour he charges me. I am certain that most others here change theirs themselves.

the belt is easier to change then diagnosing the headlight problem. depending on the options on the car and if you are changing the seals a timing belt can be done in about ten minutes. you must check and adjust ignition timing after a timing belt install.
