| I've looked around the internet and found diagrams showing one, two, and three fuel filters. Does a 1977 only have two? |

For what it's worth, the 77 I used to have had two fuel filters. One small plastic one between the fuel tank and the fuel pump, and a larger metal one in the engine bay (driver's side close to the brake master cylinder. It is my understanding that this was the stock set up on the earlier cars. _________________ 1981 931 |

| The '77 has five filters, the large metal one in the engine bay and four tiny filters on the outlet lines from the fuel distributor to the injectors. The plastic part between the tank and the pump is not a filter but rather a sound baffle. |

Correct! Keep in mind though that the large metal one came in a couple of different configurations and honestly it's hard to figure out which one you get till you try to install. Might need return it and try another if it doesn't fit or do what I did and get an adapter to make the newer ones fit.

I'm sorry but this is not correct. Ask Porsche, they list it as a fuel filter.
I cut one open and it is a small filter. It prevent debris from the tank to get in the pump. It was replace later by an in tank screening in the 924S/944 and a in tank filter and pump on the 924 turbo. _________________ 1976 924 N/A ROW SOLD

It was actually replaced on all 2 litre 924's from about 1978 by the in tank pump with filter _________________ 1984 n/a Ruby Red Metallic

| So there are 6 fuel filters on a 1977, one before the fuel pump, one big one on the drivers side front fender, and four small ones in the fuel distributor. Got it. |
