Sounds like the cold start valve is working but no fuel after.
May need adjusting the air fuel mix to keep running.
Could also be faulty WUR

it feels like my wur is faulty causing it to die. I have no idea how to take this out, or even try to ajust. I dont have a cis injection pressure gauge etc. could someone give me a walk through? i believe this it the last part to get her running. Been reading 928 forums aswell as 911.. cis. Would love some input or a guide. Seems to be on the back of the engine?

There is no sense in taking the wur out, tinkering with, adjusting, etc. without knowing that something is actually wrong with it..and you can't know that until you do the pressure checks.

Delorean auto parts (formerly Special T) has a pressure tester for $99.95. You would have to check with them if all the right adapters come with it for Porsche based CIS. But they do advertise rebuilding Porsche fuel distributors.

The Project section of this board shows how to build your own, so you could do it on the cheap.

Without having the system and control pressures correct at the very beginning, you're just going to be guessing and replacing parts. Having it correct helps to isolate problems. The pressure gauge set-up is a must have for every 924 owner that works on their own car.

Hope I'm not preaching to loud!

No worries man I'll take all the help I can get my poor car has been sitting for 2 months and it breaks my heart everyday I go out there in the garage. I'll look online, I took a look at my wur and it's leaking something out of it, looks like fuel. So that can't be good. Same with the aav.... hmmm. I need a pressure tester I gotta save up for the kit.

Some of the fittings use copper washers. It could be someone reused old ones-or didn't use any.

Also want to note, some other people had issues with the wur whenever the car is warming up, before the car had this issue during warm up, it would have some issues idling, it felt like it wanted to die, and after further reading on the forums, a few other had this issue I'm having aswell. Since the wur controls
The pressure, this is just a guess. I think my wur is messed up and causing the fuel injectors to send too much fuel, causing it to flood, right when I start it up. I have to wait for the fuel to evaporate first before I can try to restart.... I don't know, I'm not a mechanic, just trying to do some educated guesses. Tell me if I sound crazy or not.

If I remember correctly, I used a metric allen wrench on it.

Here is the DIY pressure tester:

I'm voting in this being the problem. I bought a rebuilt one, and I know not to just keep throwing parts at a CIS injected car, but this is the last thing I haven't replaced.... so Ima try it, I found a rebuilt one so I'm going to go for it.

Well 4 months later she is still sitting.
Im all out of odds. I did the bottle test they spray evenly. I replaced the wur. I replaced 2 fuel lines after breaking them. I really doubt this, but can vac lines really make the car start then die.... I just dont understand anymore.

Two things:

-When was the last time you replaced your fuel filter?
- Are both of your fuel pumps working?

A set up in tank pump would cause you to have pressure at first but the in line pump would have too much restriction to keep the fuel flowing.

So... two more tests.

Test 1) Remove the wire connectors from one fuel pump and jumper the fuel pump relay. Check to see that the other pump is running. Reconnect the first pump and disconnect the second. Check for operation again. You should be able to feel the pump vibrating a bit if you put your hand on it while it's running. You should also hear it running.

Test 2) Go out and buy or borrow a fuel pressure gauge. I bought mine at harbor freight for $100. That's cheaper than throwing money at your car and you have a tool to play with now. Test your fuel system and control pressures using the methods outlined on this forum.

Assuming everything else checks out, remove your fuel pump relay, jumper the relay socket (far right and far left pins) and try to start it. Maybe your fuel pump relay is cutting out when rpms go up?

After trying to start it, are your spark plugs wet?

Just a few shots in the dark.
