|
|
Recently needed to replace the external fuel pump on a Toofah Turbo S2 and was unable to find cross references available on-line of the values (pressure/litres per hour) of Bosch fuel pumps.
From Bosch itself I was able to get their Cross Reference Information, but as useful as it was to determine supercessions, no metrics were listed.
The Aussie distributor claimed no such information was readily available......I find that unbelievable!
The car was delivered with a 0 580 254 967 short neck pump, but this is not sold in OZ by Bosch, even though I was able to find several examples still available overseas, but at great cost. Wanting to replace my failed pump with a like-for-like short neck, I was steered to a 0 580 254 053, which on the Bosch list is supposedly a direct replacement. Interestingly, it is also a replacement for the 80-83 911SC, and when I checked the PET, sure enough the 924T S2 and late 911 SC have the same fuel pump part number 911 608 102 02.
So everything should be sweet, but.......I'm still having fuel delivery issues (detailed in another post elsewhere), and yes I know I have to systematically check a whole range of things, but I really would like to know if this new pump is performing as required.
Anyone know of such a comparison table?? _________________ 80/81 932/8 ROW |

According to my local parts dealer and Official Porsche Centre
911.608.102.02 = Bosch 0 580 464 126
I think 0 580 254 053 is an older reference number. I checked your specs and you should be fine.
Your pump(0 580 254 053) has the following specs:
Pressure - 5bar
Flow - 175 liter per hour |

Yo Johann
So where did you get the specs from?
Incidentally, you're probably right about my list being old (though I did pull it off a Bosch website only weeks ago), as it doesn't even list the 0 580 464 126.
Was it you in another post somewhere, that floated the figures of 6.5 bar and 255 lph?
Does anybody know what our cars should have....that is a figure from the factory? I can't find anything in the FSM. _________________ 80/81 932/8 ROW |

My old leaky pump and the new one I replaced this spring:
Mine came with the long neck...but if you do a search on Bosch's website for its products you can find the equivalent specs of the pump I ordered. Its the right thing for the 924.

I found this on the Dutch 924 Site. It is outdated but it lists both the 053 and 962 Morghen mentions as valid replacement pumps
TECH. INFO PORSCHE 924.
From the factory, the Porsche 924 has the following pump mounted 0 580 254 967. The table then refers to 0 580 254 053. The pumping capacity is 228 liters per hour at a system pressure of 5 Bars.

Thanks Guys.
Yes, I did finally get the fuel pump working....in fact it was singing. Always seems to work when fuel is added to the tank!
On those Bosch websites that you have accessed, Johann, did any actually provide the Bar/LPH figures for each pump?
What I've found is just part numbers and to get a value for each pump entails contacting a seller.
A table of various pumps and their performance specs would be great.
