Hi, some more info for those questions...

1 - Engine Management is a Vipec I44 with a Dash 2 Pro with logging

2 - Varicam is still installed and working although its always on as this seemed to work the best,

3 - Weight is a guess approximately 900kg, I will corner weight soon and give a better measurement.

Racing again this weekend and it will give me a chance to sort out the rear end handling,

Here are some more pics...

Front Clip, changing the tow point and adding some mesh in front of the oil cooler as it got damaged.

Oh man do I get picked on for my 'Lunch Box' cover in the back... Its probably fair but it meets Motorsport NZ requirements, you have to have a seal between the fuel cell lid and the cabin of the car, that is the easiest way to do it, although long term I will convert to be able to fill from the outside for when I do endurance events!

Car looks great.

Hope everything is OK for you and your family (and the car) after the earthquake!

We are all good after ANOTHER earthquake, I am in Christchurch and the quake here was big but no damage, we have plenty of people we know who are in the most affected area which is about 2 hours north of Christchurch.

I am just hoping one doesn't hit when I am racing on sat, 200+k's plus earth quake = super scary!

Glad to hear. I visited Christchurch and Kaikoura (and Nelson, Wellington) about a decade ago and loved it. So beautiful.

Ok, so the weekend racing didn't go to plan, a Chevron GR8 spun in front of me and I could not get out of the way.....

Need to get some new control arms and a replacement strut,

What are you race guys using for control arms? I am late offset...

Cheers

Rob

Steel arms would have bent and not broken...so i'm not sure how much better they would be in this case....but steel arms only come in early offset.

You could increase the frontal/corner protection instead...I would build a crumple system out of square tubes so that it takes the energy instead of reaching the wheel.

Argh...well it's not "if" but "when."

At least you got it out of the way quickly.

Over the pond here in OZ most guys racing are using made up chrome moly arms, including all cars in the 944 Challenge series. These arms, with proper heim joints are available for around a very spendy $1,000 (a pair)from 'aPorschapart' in Melbourne. Anyone running earlier offset configurations usually just run beefed up standard steel arms.
I'm sure there must be some handy fabricators in NZ who could fab up some chrome moly arms for you.

As always, check the rulebook before spending money on fabrication.

The good thing about my class is that you need a German Car with a German Engine, And I cant lap faster the 1:23 (I am doing 1:39) that's the only rule!!!

So it means we can be creative.....
