Most 924/944/951 CV joints are nothing more than type 4 VW bus joints. PN 924 CV joints: 113.501.331DApplications:924 '76-82924S944 '83-89944S '87-'88944T '86-early 87 to chassis #95HN151524VW Type 4 Bus, VW Type 411

Like I said. More torque than a N/A is capable of.

I killed a 944NA gearbox with my K27 turbocharged 924, but the CV joints are like new.

That doesn't sound good for the 944 n/a box I bought for my 1.8 turbo swap.

I have about 240 hp going to the wheels and my trans is still the original one that came in the car. However, there is an N/A in my shop as we speak with a blown diff from down shifting. Remember that when you park on a hill and put it in first gear that the full ~3000 lbs of weight can't turn the engine, yet when you down shift you can make the wheels turn the engine... this means you are putting far higher loads on the diff than it was ever designed for... just chew on that and you will see why there are so many broken ones.

if you have a good condition gearbox you're probably going to be ok. that particular gearbox had some hard miles under its belt before i got it, i used it for a few years and then going uphill the diff just crunched when full boost hit.
