I got these types of struts, springs and mounts,.. anyone know a part number for all these? Preferably Monroe shocks or perhaps something also in a performance. Not sure what I wanna use just yet.

Boy, you've got a ton of options when it comes to suspension on these cars thankfully.

For Part #s Porsche gives access to their original PET cataloging. http://www.porsche.com/usa/accessoriesandservices/classic/genuineparts/originalpartscatalogue/

In order to help you decide what kind of suspension set up you want we'll need to know what you're looking for in the car. Stock handling? Street car with track day ability or full on track suspension.

Once we know that we can start offering suggestions. Your's is the early model car right?

Hey,..

Yea it's an early 924. Dumb question,.. do these shocks come apart? like you slide them out of the lower part? I am finding a lot of these tube looking ones.

Also,.. If anyone knows price and availability of springs and mounts just encase.

You can see here the strut tube pulled apart awaiting a coil over kit to be installed. http://www.paragon-products.com/kb_results.asp?ID=16

And here you can see the strut completely disassembled. http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=24501

Upper strut mounts can be bought here. http://www.paragon-products.com/924-Suspension-s/382.htm and Dan sells strut inserts and all the bushings necessary to refurbish your suspension at his site http://garage.ideola.com/prod-SuspensionUpgrades.html

Remember that the suspension in your car (and in all cars) is designed as a package and just changing one thing may give you an undesirable result. So if you can, plan to build a complete setup.

I seen a thread on here about how to change the front shocks/struts without using a spring compressor, that still around. I am trying to search for it now, but if someone finds it before be leave some breadcrumbs pls.

Just pulled out a set of 4 Gabriel strut/shocks... Who in the right mind would use those on a Porsche? They where all completely blown out!

You should try using the "Search" feature sometime. . .you aren't the first to wonder about suspension options.

or even better googles advanced search feature http://www.google.com/advanced_search

It's what I use to find info that I'm looking for. It's kept my post count down.
