My hp seems to vary from drive to drive. Some drives it's great and peppy, some drives it's a little lower than I'd like.

Is this possible or am I truly going crazy?

Maybe I need a vacation...

Well, you do own a 924 so you're not totally straight in the head.

Is it feel like it's a fuel issue? Or what makes it feel like it's down on power?

That is a very good point

Not sure, it runs smoothly all the time but just sometimes when I put down my foot the reaction is different than other times. Maybe its intake related or maybe distributor related, I'm not sure what to check..

I don't want to take anything apart just because my brain has a short circuit

What you may want to check is the distributor. Start there. Make sure it is tight and doesn't move. If you can move of if there is a bit of play in the distributor (you can move it to time the engine) that could be it.

Other than that maybe a vacuum line is loose.

Just my thoughts.

I doubt its a vacuum line, that would be more noticeable. I plan to check the distributor later today, see if its loose.

Distributor is tight.

Checked everything else in the engine and all seems orderly.

It's probably just me being OCD/Paranoid

it still could be a vac line. I had a vac line on my boat that was a little loose. It would run fine, untill it got a little warm, and then the motor ran like crap.

Well I think you all are right. Just today it started showing signs of a mild vacuum leak. (idling a bit low and shakily as well as not cooling as efficiently)

I'm flying down to the states tomorrow for a week so the car will sit in the garage for a week but when I get back i'll do a full diagnosis.

Thanks for your comments, it definitely helped me out!
