So we have been looking into adding our inter cooler in the next couple of months, and looking through note's the car we have brought has had the engine balanced, forged pistons, rebuilt turbo, clutch etc etc,the waste gate is a 930 unit with "1bar" so using a online calculator is abut 14.4 pounds off boost?? This sounds pretty frigging high am I right? I don't have a boost gauge yet. how does this work out in the real world? the car has no issue with losing traction in and out of a corner that's for sure

Thats just under 1 bar...not that much boost but i would not go over that with that small top-mounted intercooler.
If the AFR is not set right, you'll run lean and it will detonate...probably blow the head gasket.

All good, just ironing out all the wonky ideas in my head, here in n.z, psi seems to be the "lingo".so as standard does a 924t have a 1bar spring as well? which if so is governing boost to about 10 psi? am I on the right track?.
I don't want a blown head gasket It was the death of my 924 na.

Factory settings differ...but for the 924 turbo they are all close to 0.7 bar

You can feel the difference between 0.7 and 1.0 quite a bit...loss of traction is one of them.

i also bought a 1.0 bar spring from the 930...but it did not produce 1.0 bar on the 924...it just jumped from 0.67 to 0.8...the turbo was in great condition.
so get a boost gauge to check what you're doing.
