Interesting there is a 3/4 length 390cc bosche injector, might be a good fit for the 931 head to allow better access over the fuel rail to the stock throttle location??

Wouldn't the pencil style solve that problem by being able to be inserted further into the injector bung? I'm looking at the pencil style to get the pintle closer to the combustion chamber... _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

IIRC the pencil style allow clearance aroun the injector bung, not sure if it makes a difference with the rail height.
You would need to measure the distance from where the lower o ring butts up against the aluminium in the headto the height of the top o ring.
From what I can find on this link
http://www.bosch.com.au/content/language1/downloads/fuelinjectors.pdf
bosch tech specs there are two sizes of EV6 injectors from oring to oring
48.8mm - standard version
60.3mm - long body
the FG injector i mentioned is part # 0 280 150 363 and considered EV1 style
In this link if you scroll down you can see pics comparing EV1 , EV6 , EV14
From the look there is no discernable difference in height between EV6 /EV14
my guess is tha the long body EV6 is a replacement for older EV1 style injectors. If that's the case then that's around 12mm in height reduction the rail would sit.

Dan is the part number for the injectors your thinking of on that bosch list??

I've been planning to run the Siemens Deka pencil style, as for the longest time, it was the only high impedance injector with enough capacity for what I hope to achieve on the UWB, especially in consideration of E85. I've recently found a couple of additional sources of custom-made flow-matched injectors the have massive capacity in high impedance pencil style injectors. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Maby the EV12 style bosch injector is what you are looking for:

how about those 2200cc injectors, then you can get a bumper sticker that says "my other car is a petrol tanker"

I think your model is not 100% accurate, compare it with this sliced cilinderhead and you will notice that your injector chanel is longer.(maby a feature of the 931head?) Mine is 22mm's deep at the max and around 13mm min.
(This really is an incredible usefull picture, thanx again endwrench)
The tip of the EV12 injector is aproximately 18mm long and therefore it is not that bad at all _________________ Porsche 924 2.0 Kompressor 136.1wHp @ 5650rpm / 201.9wNm @ 3900rpm (dyno @ dp-engineering.nl) |

You are totaly richt, i figure it is strainge my model is so difrend from the pic. I realy mesieurt like a 100 times fore the injector ports end inlets.
Wel then it whil fit just fine, end i fount my injectors |

It really is such an od complex shape, nearly impossible to model 1:1.
Even the diameter is correct so I think we have a winner (now whe have to find them for a reasonable price... ) _________________ Porsche 924 2.0 Kompressor 136.1wHp @ 5650rpm / 201.9wNm @ 3900rpm (dyno @ dp-engineering.nl) |

Martijnus and Ideola wrote in another topic that using "short" injectores is not really a problem so maby i'm just creating my own problem wich is going to cost me a lot of money ... |
when selecting injectors you have to also consider spray pattern. in the pic the injectors on the right (and middle left) have a split spray pattern designed for 4v(per cyl) heads. When used on a 2v head this can lead to the spray hitting the intake walls and cause the fuel to puddle. i would think this would be worse than a single narrow spray going thru a passage.

Therefore I would like to try the 19lb/hr injectors first without a supercharger, I suppose they will be sufficient.
So now i'm not only searching for a FPR but also for 300cc/min injectors... |
The 19's will be ok (marginal) for n/a but if you go supercharged get 440cc. 300 will not be enough and you will be running past 80% duty cycle. |

Hi, I would'nt get too freaked out about injector impedences,
There are injector driver boxes that allow you to run alternate impetences.
Bosch Indy injectors are available, which would be big enough for anyone, I reckon.
What are you planning on?
An Old formula I learned was 800cc/min per 100kw@ wheels,
Whats everyone elses opinion?
I'll also Put it this way, to back it up, a bosch 044 only flows 3.2, L/min (from memory) and is enough to make over 600hp@ engine in our Touring Cars.
Maths is a good way to make sure you get the right stuff the first time. _________________ 924 N/A snailshell, superpro linkage bushes, 2.5"exhaust

Low idle duty cycle becomes an issue (from what I understand) on the high capacity low impedance injectors. I'm no expert, but everything I've read has warned against using the driver boxes to muck with impedances. There are now a whole range of high impedance high capacity injectors, all the way up to 2000cc. I have a source for these, and will be eventually offering flow-matched sets with my EFI kits. If any body needs immediate help, send me PM. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

BUMP
I'm planning to buy Bosch EV14 280 158 038 injectors. Any comments on those?
They are short style injectors, with extended tip and a conical spray pattern of 20°. 237g/min - 347 ccm/min @ 3 bar, but they can handle up to 8 bar to get a bit more flow.
BMW R1150 motorcycles use those i think. |
