I need a quick responce on this...i might have a chance to buy a set of 928 S BIG brembo brakes for lesser money.
the fronts are HUGE...bigger than the 951 ones.
the rears are like the 951.
the brake disks on this thing are twice the thickness of the 924/944 units.

the obvious question...will they fit on a 924 Carrera GT equipped 924?
that means...front steel arms with 944 NA brakes.
rear late aluminium arms with 944 NA brakes.

i'm wondering if i can fit the disks and calipers to the 924/944 spindles.
thanks in advance !

I thinking you mean 928s4 calipers, these have the big ones in front, rear is the Same as951.

You need custom brackets and 944 turbo spindels. In the rear you need aloy arms.

You also need 17 inch wheels

custon brackets...hmm...dont like the sound of that..do they actually work? i mean without risks and failures?

i'm all set for the rears...my car is CGT equipped. so alloy arms on the rears and steelies on the front + i use 17" wheels...so thats not a problem for the rears.
but for the fronts....
951 spindles mean some more mods or needed parts on the steering rods.

damnit !

what about the booster? any need for upgrade? i use the ROW late 924/944 booster.

Well, if they are a good enough deal. You could buy them and at least save the rears to use and trade for regular 951 brakes + cash?

I think the guys over on rennlist have more than 1 type of adapter made to fit the 928s4 brakes. Unfortunately I do no have time until after work to really help you search.

i'll see what i can get them for...and if the deal is good i'll have them.

my new home does not have a heating system yet...and i'm upgrading the brakes on my 924 talk about being an idiot..

The guys on the 928 boards will pay good money for the fronts. Biy them keep the rears and sell the fronts for profit. I just put a set on my 928 last year. Wow!

I use the normal 951 brakes on my turbo, they are perfect.

I think the 928 S4 ones are a bit overkill for a 924 turbo.

If you are not running endurance races, don't bother with HUGH brakes. The 911 crowd is queer for brake Bling. Don't fall for it with your lighter car.

What Dutch924-Racer has will more than suffice.

Be very careful with the front rear biasing, and be prepaired to buy a number of different pads for the front/rear to help achieve the right balance.

You will not be able to use the 928 front rotors, but you may be able to find another set of rotors which will work for you. Or you can have a custom set of 2 piece hats made for you.

Ditch the factory valve. Specially if you mix models. I don't know what the 924 uses but I was never fond of the early 928 proportioning valves. They are complicated. Buy an adjustable and set it how you like it.

well here they are, i also took the front hubs in hope that i can use those 928 disks also.
regarding the bling..yea..it comes with the size...but weight-wise...OH MY GOD !! the big calipers on the fronts are almost half the weight of the 944 calipers i'm using now !
The disks are not much heavyer on the fronts !
overall this braking system is quite alot lighter than what i have now (944 NA)

I dont see why i cant use these disks and calipers on the front of the 924.
IIRC i've seen this upgrade on a CS 924 once. i recall it was called "big 928 brakes upgrade"
i took the hubs out too...so i plan to install these hubs on the early 944 spindles (use the 928 fat disks) and make/buy an adaptor to install the calipers.

the reason i want to do this is...yea...lazyness...i dont want to sell then buy the 951 calipers....then buy pads...etc..
these things that i have in my trunk now are fit and run...the disks are good, the pads are good. they just need a cleaning job and some paint and they are ready to roll.
