The bolt-on overfenders are common mods on most track-Porsches. Even the transaxles!

going a similar approach with the zx flares, but using ones that don't have the rivot cutouts but a solid fange that will be blended.
The only tricky thing will be getting the height of the rears right... I'm thinking either equal height with the front or just slightly below similar to the dp flares.
Anyone's thoughts on how much can be trimmed off the rear arch without eating into the wheel tub?

| I just can't seem to get away from those $1200.00+ fender flare body kits. Yeah they look great and fit the car perfect but I don't have a ton of money and I really like the look of the bolt-on type. Besides, if you crunch them on the track, you don't have to re-blend everything back into the body. Does anyone know where to get an ok set of bolt-on fender flares??? best I can find so far is a universal style from aeroworks at autosportz.com[/b] |

There's a big thread on it somewhere here. Fronts only, as you can see. |

very interesting
| Quote: | The ASAP PCH also known as the ASAP 924 Turbo PCH or simply Turbo PCH, is a limited-production, high performance Porsche Turbo 924 produced by Advanced Systems And Performance of Los Angeles California.
Developed by Advanced Systems And Performance, designed and built by Maverick Mann in the spring of 2009 and based on the Porsche 924 Turbo platform.
The ASAP PCH featured a hand modified louvered functional hood that dropped engine temperatures 22 degrees with over a 150 individual louvers which was hand crafted by master fabricator Scott Ruddin.
The Turbo PCH also features an enlarged KKK Turbolader Turbo and a highly tuned version of Porsche's in line-four cylinder engine, Hal Holbrook flared body panels, BBS 19 inch wheels, upgraded suspension and braking systems, a custom-designed LSD quaffe, and several unique trim pieces to create the one of a kind wide body pre-944 flared fender look.
Much attention was given to aerodynamic considerations as well as usable form and function being one of the key elements of the Turbo PCH’s design and styling theme. The prototype model used the 924 Turbo hood and made the factory NACA duct functional by piping air flow directly to the inter-cooler. This along with the louvered hood to assist in dissipating increased engine heat put out by the larger Turbo unit.
The Turbo PCH Develops 305 hp and 288 lb·ft of torque and weighing in it at only 2,130 pounds, the PCH has outstanding performance, with a 0-60 mph time of around 5.6 seconds and a top speed in excess of 165 miles per hour.
The car received its nickname, "PCH", during testing by Maverick Mann, who shook the car down on test drives home on the Pacific Coast Highway through a 27 mile strip in Malibu California and noted how well the turbo four cylinder ran in coastal sea air and started calling the car the “Turbo PCH”. |

Don't get too excited Jim on the hood louvers, easy peasy to get done on anything from a 924 to a latent ford excort, if they still exist! Not the over-done big deal they make it out to be in the above ad. I know of a guy in Minnesota that has a louver stamping machine if yer interested. _________________ '83 944 Track car.

Naa, I don't mind my plane boring na hood, it's easy to clean compared to all those vents. But after being in your car, that gt hood scoop really has me thinking ...... I just need to think why my 2.5L na needs a snoop
But that's a very unique 931 with d-product body kit, two years ago when I saw the kit I really didn't like it, but it's growing on me. I think what I like about it the most is the rarity of the car/kit. _________________ White 1987 Porsche 924S manual |
