Definately buy it for that price.
It'd be a real shame to part out a decent running car though. Sell it on complete.

The majority of us part our cars while they're stationary...

. So what's your price point (as in, what's the car worth to you)?

Well the guy lives around the corner from me. He sad if i get £650 to him before the auction ends, its mine.

I'm tempted to buy it, drive it till the MOT runs out in 11 months time then and part it out.

Like...

seats £200
Doors £75 each
15" wheels £150
Dash (only slightly cracked) £100
Euro pistons £100

then i will have my money back and the rest will be profit. Its a runner like, it just needs a passenger window switch, thats it! The engine stars lovely, no hot start issues and the engine bay is as clean as you like. Paint is perfect too. Slam.... its a shame to part it out but (as Ricky's Dad Ray says in Series 5 Episode 3) "thats the way she goes"

Sounds good in theory but it's not that simple or profitable. If you buy a good example for 500 then of course you will sell the goodies to get your money back. Then its little by little over several months - I slay late model 944's, if I'm lucky the odd S or S2. It's only worthwhile if you need a personal parts supply for various projects or if you are a known seller and build up a reputation. Nobody's time is free and its a time consuming buisness. 924? I would need to buy it for 100-200 to make it pay.

PS, I know the seller - I've sold him a few trivial items. He claimed to have a 924GTS? What colour is it?

for sure.... its just that i have to try to justify buying another Porsche to myself. I keep telling myself its an investment but i'm already lookin for:

left door mirror (in BLACK),
upper windscreen trim,
passenger window switch,
sun visor clip,

i've only got one speed on my wipers.
The drivers door does not unlock on the key,
and the heater motor runs slow when switched off.

But the auto box is fine, steering is precise, engine sounds sweet,

The guy i got it from bought it as a Barn Find 2 yeas back.
That Barn find made news at the time, i remember it. There were Jags, Mercs, MGs, Bemers all collected by this bloke, it put em all up for auction.
Well the seller has only put a few thousand miles in the last 2 years on it since restoring it. Its got 3200miles on the clock but the odometer is shot.

Its one hell of car. I guess its gona be my daily drive within the next few weeks as my black one is hard work for daily use, now that the ride is so hard, fun though!

Congrats and welcome to the world of owning more than one car at a time.

There is always something one of them needs from petrol to repairs.

I'm still justifying why I have 3 cars and I drive them all. They become part of the family as soon as you do a simple repair to the new one.

I'm the only driver so I can't explain it to my wife or for that matter to myself.

But it makes me happy !!!

Welcome to the exclusive slushbox club Paula.

Sure that you will enjoy easily driving it through those narrow winding streets and also in heavier stop & go London (style) traffic. Lighter steering too, making it a perfect daily driver.

Then with your spare left hand you are able to apply makeup, light a smoke, rub up your passenger`s leg, give fast finger gestures to other drivers, pick your nose, the uses are just endless.
