fuzz, tar, etc from the tub interior for a racer?
Seems like there has to be a better way than hand scrubbing and scraping.
thanks,

There are two types of sound deadener. The stuff on the floor comes up really easily with an air chisel. I bought one that came with 8 bits at Harbor Freight for $16 for the sole purpose of stripping my UWB project. One of the best tool investments I ever made, bang for the buck-wise.
The stuff on the torque tube tunnel, rear seat, and foot well sides is MUCH stickier and tougher to remove, but heat, a wide putty knife, and lots of elbow grease works.
Break it into sections, do one section at a time. Driver foot well; passenger foot well; driver rear seat well; passenger rear seat rail; torque tube tunnel; rear seat. Plan about an hour for each section, and you'll have it done before you know it.

Dry Ice. Freeze it, let it contract and smack it with a rubber mallet. _________________ Stefan

I must've got lucky.. mine all came out quite easy in around 2 hours ..
the air chisel was on stand by but elbow grease and some assistance from a die grinder and wire brush got the job done. _________________ 6 bikes, 9 cars, 1 van.... the more you have the less they work. |
