Just found this via Rennlist over on 44cup. There's even a group buy ongoing thru May 15...

At $725 - 10% group buy discount, looks like quite a good deal.

Are those inboard holes there to accomodate early sway bar drop links?

Yessir! And he claims he can accommodate any sway bar arrangement you want. Early and late offset as well.

FWIW, there's also a guy on 44cup who's offering a service to rebuild / reinforce stock steel arms...might be the most affordable option I've seen (besides DIY).

too expensive for a road car....might be worth it if you're racing.

i'm after a better yet cheaper or about the same price solution to get late offset for my 924...this one looks very nice..but too expensive.

At the cost of sourcing used rebuildable late offset stock arms and the necessary rebuild components, you'd likely be at least half of that cost, and still have a flawed design particularly for a lowered car. Your expectations are probably a bit out of line with reality. If you add in the cost to upgrade to poly or monoball bushings on a stock arm, you could easily spend more. IMO (and I have no affiliation with either of the above), the first option is a very good price, especially so with the 10% discount.

Excuse my ignorance but how does the rear mount work?

On my 924 the end of the steel arm is held by a bush/cap with two vertical bolts whereas this has a spherical joint.

Also is this in early 944 config so it can fit a 924?

cheers
simon

Another recommendation on reinforcing, is just to have the stock arms seam-welded for $15-20 each. Little more reasonable cost than the link, IMO.

@simsport
The first option in the opening post probably requires the use of the upgraded 968 castor block or an aftermarket monoball castor block. In the case of the 968 OEM unit, it is direct bolt on to all 924/944/968 chassis, and it is the recommended upgrade for all of the 944 cars when using OEM rubber mounts. This is the setup I am running on my UWB car, and have it installed with the late offset alu arms. With that design, you would just use the stock bolt. So on an early 924, you would need to source the castor blocks and the requisite bolt. The castor blocks run in the range of $95 each.

@Rasta
Worth noting that the guy on 44cup is doing a bit more than seam welding, and also starts with NEW steel arms and also includes NEW ball joints. So the $200 price tag didn't seem unreasonable to me. The going rate around here is about $75 / hour for welding, so they must be really fast or really cheap in PNW But yeah, the DIY seam welding approach is definitely cheapest.

Understood, my guy certainly didn't add any new plates. Still waiting to see one come apart before I decide the seam welding is inadequate, I guess.

As for the $75 an hour. . .like I said, $15-20 each.

To what bolt are you referring? I had thought the 968 blocks could only go on Al arms. . .

Yes, 968 blocks can only go on alu arms, which is what I'm running on the 931 UWB project. The 968 block bolts directly to the same spot as the early 924/944 castor bushing retainer though, and for the A-arms in the OP, you would use the castor block pictured above with the stock 951/968 eccentric bolt, part number 951.341.431.03 (superceded from 951.341.431.02). See position 3 in the below diagram:

. . .especially when you consider the inboard camber adjusters, eliminating the need for $500 "camber plates."
