Does anybody have experience with them? Paragon offers them rather cheap. Any chance that they can work and last on a street car? _________________ WBR, Shurick

Which product are you looking at? I would NOT recommend their control arm bushes. . .have a look at Prothane for an inexpensive alternative. _________________ Toofah King Bad

I was looking at control arm and banana arm bushes. What's wrong with them? _________________ WBR, Shurick

The front control arm bushes don't have a central sleeve (like Prothane and Racer's Edge delrin), so you really can't put the proper torque on them, especially with an early steel crossmember. I just pulled a pair from Shaggy that are chewed up beyond recognition. I have heard the same complaints about their trailing arm bushings. . .junk.
Also, I think the Prothanes are cheaper. . .just look for Golf Mark I. Unfortunately, there is no cheap rear solution at this time, unless you use Beetle bushings with a fabricated sleeve. _________________ Toofah King Bad

I already found Prothane bushings, it's a real substitute.
Thanks for the warning, Rasta! _________________ WBR, Shurick

A good set full polyurethane bushings, properly fitted and lubricated will work just fine. I use this guy's polyurethane grease as it works well:
http://www.polybushings.com
It also helps that he is local and a good person to deal with. Just wish he made some stuff for our cars (I'm going to work on him a bit, heh) If you send him an e-mail/call, etc he'll send you some lubricant for cheap. He also carries Energy Suspension bushings.
BTW, if you're serious about making your car handle consistently, try to ensure that you keep the suspension from binding during movement. Binding increases spring rate, which can be okay if it is consistent, which it rarely is. Ideally, you should be able to remove the springs/shocks/struts and move the suspension arms up and down by hand. This includes sway bars. There shouldn't be any slop, just smooth movement up/down. You'll never quite get it perfect with polyurethane, but then steel or delrin bushings are a pain in the tush in daily use. _________________ Stefan

Another question... How do those delrin and polygraphite bushings are used to be set in control arms? Press-fit or just inserted by hand? _________________ WBR, Shurick

I've only done the steel arms, but they were one-thumbers (properly LUBED of course).

Thanks!=)
Possibly I'll try to fabricate some delrin or poliamide bushings as an experiment. _________________ WBR, Shurick
