Eh, was that an export model or something? Because here in the states, that's a Chevy Laguna (based on the Malibu). It shares the same intermediate chassis, but the body panels are quite different for the GP compared to what you've shown a picture of. I've never seen a GP with Laguna style nose on it to even compare it to, but search Chevy Laguna and tons of pics pop up are are exactly what you show there. I know, I've had two.

True, brain fade on my part, now I know what it's like to be a Prius.

AMC Pacer X V8, although I believe the X package was discontinued at the end of 1977, and this is a 1978 (the first year a V8 was available). Anyway, it looks special.

You would need to replace the 5 liter V8 with the 6.6 liter unit (401ci) to make it a real muscle car though.

The 1974 GTO wasn't a bad car. Although Ventura / Nova based its 350 V8 put out a Corvette threatening 200 hp net, which was good for the time and you could still team it with a manual gearbox (3 speed).

Rotaries let one guzzle gas in style. With tightening CAFE they might not be seen again, sadly.

Stock 1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk stock with a Packard engine 352 cu. in.
One of the best looking cars at the time. Mine was white and metallic green.
Look them up.

The immortal C3 Vette! It was longest running (1968-82), had the biggest motor (454ci), biggest sales year (53,000 in 1979) and out acted Mark Hamill!! Lol.

Car customizing in the '70s got that way. The more vile looking, the better, or so people thought at the time.

AMG's Red Pig was actually a 6.8 liter machine that came 2nd in the 1971 SPA 24 Hours, and went through a lot of gas in the process.

Muscle cars are far from dead, in fact have evolved to new heights.

My new Shaker has 485hp 480fptq, runs a 12 second 1/4 mile, has a top speed of 180mph, AND gets me 24.9 mpg at 74mph on the highway,

Looks very cool and love that color! I was reading a review in EVO magazine about the new Coyote engined Stang. They said it's limited to 155 mph, but the front end lifted off da deck at 135 mph!! Needs a btr front spoiler (downforce) IMO. I think the Germans still have it right when it comes to achieving a safe top speed.

For his 60th birthday Ferry was given a 914/8, that's what I call a nice surprise, lol.

Porsche, there's no substitute
