the address to the 1 pic is -file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Michael%20%20Brown/My%20Documents/My% - are you running your pc as a server, if so dont you need to put your IP address in the pic address . or did you make a mistake uploading the pics or in the link to where they are.

XK and XJ are 924 NA's for Europe and ROW (Rest Of the World) all years 1978-1985.
XG and XE are 924 NA for USA, Japan, Calif. years 1978-1979.
VC are 924 NA for USA, Canada, Japan years 1980-1982.

You need to keep in mind that just because a part came from a different engine series (let's say VC vs XJ), does not mean that the part will automatically not fit and work, or that it definitely will fit and work.

And just because an engine part came from another VC engine (say a different model year car) and you have a VC series engine, it does not automatically mean that the part can be bolted onto you engine without other parts being changed.

Yes, if you need a piston and rod for a early 924 (say 77), the piston and rod from a 82 924 will fit. But there is the cr difference. An early 77 924 could have 8.0 US production pistons, or 9.3 european pistons from the factory. It could have a european cylinder head, or a US production head. The 82 US engine had 9.1 cr.

So, if you had a complete set of 82 pistons, and they were compatible with the bores in your block, or you could make them so, you could install the whole set, but not one piston and rod from the 82 engine.

Then there could be external differences. The 80 924NA uses a different ignition system, and emissions controls from the earlier models, and the later models. 80 and later US cars are VC series engines, but the ignition wiring is different, and you can change all of it over, but you can't replace or share ignition parts between a 80 and an 81 or 82.

So be aware of the differences when you are considering swapping parts around, you may cause severe running or safety problems if you don't research and plan ahead.
