Popped into my local mechanic to get my annual registration inspection done. Last time he saw the car it was stock except for cam and headers. He popped the hood and exclaimed "well, that's a new addition!! how's it run??"

He took it for a spin, then told me I had a vacuum leak somewhere - he could hear it. The tubing into the MAP sensor wasn't sealing 100% as it turns out.

Passed the inspection - am legal for another year. Now back to the 5-lug conversion - still cleaning up all the donor parts... what a job.

Cheers,

Thanks - mostly standing on the shoulders of others though...

Probably reinstalled a few ponies, but nothing drastic - probably back to where it was in '81 when it came off the line, or a touch better because of other mods. Throttle response it heaps better with the bigger TB and the slightly longer runners on the 931 intake.

Haven't driven enough to do any mileage comparisons.

Cheers,

Hi, nice job you've done with the conversion. Gives a nice and empty space under the bonnet for future upgrades

I couldn't find whether you are using a Wideband Lambda sensor, do you happen to know if you can hook up the Wideband sensor directly to the MSII or do you need some control unit to "translate" the information given by the lambda sensor for the MSII ?

Yes, that emptiness will be a thing of the past. I'm back on that now...

I'm using a Innovate LC-1 which comes with the WB sensor and control unit. You need a control unit.

Brilliant, nice upgrade!

I will follow your blower conversion closely, i'm considering going EFI and Supercharged myself and I think this is a nice example how to do it.

Don't wait for me! It took me 7 months or so to get the EFI done, the SC... well... it won't be a Xmas '09 present unless I a) win lottery, b) quit my job, or c) discover a way to stop time!
