Hi All.
I just changed out my TPS.
My loss of Rpm is gone but my idle is high and fluctuates/wanders.
it is idling betwen 1200 and 1700 rpm. when it holds steady it holds at 1600.
Any suggestions.
thnx

You have a vacuum leak or the ICV/ISV needs cleaning.
The hoses to the ICV/ISV crack at the bend befor the valve. The valve can be taken out and cleaned with carb cleaner. Make sure you replace in correct direction.
If the idle problem started after the TPS repair check all the wire/hose connections near the TPS.
The vacuum leak could be any of the original pinch clamps the factory uses on the big hoses. I replace with fuel injection clamps or non perforated screw clamps. Check under the air intake "J" tube. these hose connections rot>

a little more infor.
My idle always sat at 1000.
Just before i changed the TPS it would do the wandering and no power on acceleration.
Now i have the power back but the wander is still there.
the new thing is that my idle is at 1400 and wanders between 1200 and 1600.
would the TPS make my idle high if I didn't adjust it just right.
I can hear the click just as the throttle is advanced so it seems like it is right.
thnx

Check it with an ohm meter. Make sure it is changing state when the throttle is closed. If not the DME thinks your foot is still on the gas and it will act in the manner you are reporting. _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"
