Had this prob. for awhile got mad at myself
messed up the block driveaway had to buy that oil stain remover and use the deck brush
it worked for the leak it was a bad one no gasket or rubber thing on the distibutor at all is there supposed to be anyway I made one to fit up sug against the underside of the clamp,it worked but I think I let the oil get to low. Is there supposed to be a rubber thing or a gasket of some kind on the distributor. |

| I dont think oil should be draining from your distr. sounds like your head is not draining right .pull your valve cover and see if there is sludge in there . that might explain your not running problem . head fills with oil and doesnt drain , pan gets sucked dry and your crank and rod bearings fail . or the leak dumped all your oil and bearings are toast. |

it would only leak when it was running
the leak had been fixed. As Ive taken out the
distributor before to pull cam to get at bucket adjusters and when I pull the dist.its full with oil, thats the dist. drive housing.I checked the oil its really low
once the leak stopped I never checked the oil.

Did you replace the head gasket recently?
If you install the head gasket wrong, you will block the oil drain passages from the head. The Head will fill with oil, and the oil will leak out where it normally wouldn't and the bottom end will run dry, runing the crank and rods. |
