Wow that was nuts! I wish I could drift like that guy! I love the part where he's taunting the guy on the segway hahaha! As if he's saying "Your segway sucks so bad, that I can drift around you in my cool car!" Or something to that effect.

Nice vid man.

Definitely one of the coolest things I've seen done on 4 wheels! Too bad our 924's can't do that!

i assume some of this is only possible in an AWD drive car. Some of it was brilliant.

It was okay, it would have been better if it was a Mitsubishi Evo 8 though

Actually i really doubt that is a AWD drive car. Many of the drift cars, such as the Evo in Fast and the Furious tokyo drift, were/are converted to RWD for drifting. AWD makes drifting really hard, and near impossible.

Depends on how it's set up. Ken Block's car is in fact AWD, it's built for WRC and all kinds of rally applications, it is _not_ a drift car. I have yet to hear of a RWD rally subaru You'll also notice smoke coming from all 4 tires on launch, in drifts, etc if you look carefully.

BTW if you enjoyed that...

Granted that's a helluva lot of skill and some impressive driving. I thought the purpose of gymkhana was a fast time however... surely a faster time could be had without the showy/wanky drifting? I find drifting like a lot of things that look cool. Yes it looks cool but doesn't generally serve much of a purpose besides exactly that... looking cool.

Remember editing. I bet he hit items on the course and they reshot them. E.G. orange box near the end. The top corner is perfect. When he enters they are off. Why?

Good driving though. I could not do it in a million years. Ahhhh........ modern times.

bah, i could do that... though youd be able to follow me home with the trail of parts id leave behind...(i didnt say i could do it with out hitting anything )

the four sets of "practice" tires are worth more than most of our cars...

very cool to watch though...

yea drifting means looking cool...having fun if you are in control...and ofcourse going slower...but going fast is not always the most fun you can have.

he drives like a rally driver http://nz.youtube.com/watch?v=dwsRkoza48o

i saw this yesterday in my local. we decided it was a showcase for sponsors and that it was done in several takes due to the changes in daylight quality and he wasn't racing against the clock. hes the same one that did the big jump in his rally car http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDi0MZJZ-w0

ken block has competed in the Rally of NZ a few times, i started him the last 2 rallys i've done.
