Its work in progress but so far:
The manifolds are ali welded together and with a skim of JB weld on top to seal it as my Ali welding SUCKS! Its plenty stuck together but it was v.nasty.
Pics on a spare head:
Still need:
Filters
Pressure fittings
Cold start solenoid
Some bracketry
I don't know what bike the throttles are off but it has a warm up feature which opens the throttles a little bit that I will attach a solenoid to it also has a TPS built in.

man that is a nice setup. My solution to making my T.B. bigger is to either swap one in from another VW setup, or to pull the brass restrictor by drilling out the wrist pin from the side and plugging the hole. I used the TB from a 88 fox on my 81 rabbit... maybe 3hp gain tops.
These however look a lot nicer! What does the brand say on the side? _________________ All work and no speeding makes jack a dull boy. |

I'll try and see later, they haven't been fitted yet as I'm not very happy with the ali bits as they don't line up with anything very well.
The next plan will be to remake them in steel (I can weld steel) and actually line them up properly instead of using silicon pipe. I'll also cant them over so they can be longer without fouling the bonnet. I have some stumpy bellmouths and I have a plan for a fiberglass airbox, but that will come later.
It's on the back burner at the moment as the car is running sweetly. Only minor niggles left for the moment...

looks nice!
I'm still not sure if an auxilary air setup is needed...but I will know soon.
In that case I'm planning to use the stock AAV connected to the vacuum lines on the tb's. _________________ "Rule: Turbo's make torque, and torque makes fun." (C. Bell)

The only problem I can see with that is that your MAP will vanish if you open one end to atmosphere. You need to find a way of seperating the 2 out.
Do you have a seperate vacuum line you can take MAP from? _________________ 1994 Lotus Esprit S4 - Work in progress...

Hi Rich,
How the costume intake upgrade is doing?
Have you try it yet?
I’m planning on building something similar during winter and I just want to know how your project is going.
Thanks |

why use map, you could use TPS instead it will be a more racey setup but it will work.

Sorry guys I have put that on the back burner for now, I'm building a Radio Controlled Hydroplane....
You must use MAP if you are going to use Megasquirt, otherwise you will have very little info about the load on the engine. TPS is used only for the accel enrichment normally.
You can set it up to use RPM and TPS but its not a good idea from what I read.

On a setup like this you need a vaccum accumulator thats hooked up to all of the throttles. The accumulator removes the pulses and you get smooth easy map signal for your megasquirt/fuel pressure regulator/whatever else. I think I may have posted a picture of one in some other thread.

you sure did, you mentioned it in my thread and I made one.
Pics came from msefi.com iirc.. but those were dead after a while
I've posted a pic of mine a few days ago in some topic. Can't tell how good it works, but at least I've got some vacuum distribution
edit: here it is beneath the throttle bodies:
