A quick clip from yesterday, when Chris (#55 car) and I were doing some lead/follow exercises to help bring him up to speed:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=9WHGsnlmuMg
This was me following him for a lap or two, to film his line and prove to him just where he was and wasn't putting the car.
Between this and the track walk, we made some great progress, and once he gets the new stuff down, we expect him to pick up a good bit of pace - hopefully today!
(as for our car, we're still struggling with the setup, trying to find a happy balance point... ) _________________ Vaughan Scott

Surprised to see no responses to this one.
Well anyway, it was a totally shitty weekend, would probably have been better off to not show up. Tires were destroyed and rock hard for the test sessions Friday, but didn't figure it out till the end of Saturday, at which point I'd already lost substantial ground in the points, only finishing 3rd. Then Sunday, after writing a $900 check for new tires, I spun my self out (during the first race) and into the armco, bending the rack and pushing a little sheetmetal in - with the result of only 1 point earned there.
The guys changed the rack out right quick and realigned the car, we were qualified on the pole for the feature, and moved right into the lead, but thanks to some screwed up GT Lite cars ended up losing the spot, then got spun out of 2nd by another guy in another class. Came back strong and nearly got 2nd back, but not quite.
At least the car wasn't damaged further; hopefully, the NEW tires aren't also damaged from all the spinning and will last.
Still, the season's pretty much done at this point; we're now so far behind in points it's pretty much lost now... _________________ Vaughan Scott

After getting punted out of both 1st and 2nd, yeah, I'm a little pissed.
The video PIP is done realtime with a quad processor. _________________ Vaughan Scott

Vaughan,
Nice vid. sorry about the race day. Still that's why it's called racing, not winning
Seems a very twisty track. Passing must be an entertaining proposition!!
keep your chin up, there's always next year. Well, thats what i tell myself.

Cheers... hell yes, it's tight and twisty. Makes me laugh whenever I hear about other/pro drivers complaining about not having anywhere to pass... just being f'in babies. We go anywhere else (and our next stop is Mid-O, weekend of Aug 11-12th) and it's like racing on a friggen landing strip, you'll NEVER run out of track! Crazy.
It was a rough weekend, mainly 'cause I was decidedly over-driving the car and the tires. Have to calm down and get the thing back under control, or I'l REALLY gonna bend something next time I stuff it. At least I'm at a different track next up, so I'll have a chance to work through a different perspective, break out of that rut... _________________ Vaughan Scott
