Charge the battery, start the car and check the voltage at the battery. You should see something like 14 Volts or more if the alternator is charging.

Check the cables that run from the battery to the starter, and alternator.

Battery acid has a tendency to run down the positive cable, and eat it from the inside-out, leaving the insulation cosmetically intact, while the wire has gone.

If that happens, the battery won't charge, then the starter may act strangely, just before the battery goes flat, because it is not charging, and the ignition system is drawing over 10A.

thats gohim and everyone i think it is either the switch inside the starter or the wire going from the altenator to the start or the starter to the battery although i have a wire running straight from the altenator to the battery and that holds the system up while i am driving but it isnt that great because it is showing that it is only charging at 12.5 at the battery but when i tested it at the altenator it was showing 14.5, bad ground, anyway thanks for the help
