If you want top-of-the-line harnesses, not DOT approved, get a Willans harness (not Williams, Willans). Adjustable sub straps, onyl ones I've ever seen, very comfortable, unique design. Harnesses are dated and must be re-webbed every 5 years or so, forget exactly.
Regardless, buy racing equipment from a racing supplier, not Perf Products. Go to Racer Parts Wholesale, but Racer's Wholesale for the safety gear (suits, fire systems, harnesses, etc.). Links on my webpage under construction. They sell a new TRW/Sabelt camlock 6-point for around $140 complete. $400+ is ludicrous, unless you have a sponsorship from MOMO or Sparco.
I recommend KFP pads for racing, Metal Masters for street use. Swap 'em at the track, it's worth it. Jason @ Paragon sells 'em. Fluid is just ATE Super Blue. I never run out of brakes - just ask my competitors!!!
For belts, I'd recommend using a dedicated set of race belts on track, like the Willans or TRW setup. You can buy them with eyebolts and snaps to be removed while on the street. Just use a stock 3-point setup while on the street. This will work, and will not be compromising safety while on track. Sorry, I think the Schroth deal is a marketing gimmick. I don't see real racers using them in racecars. I do see Willans harnesses in the top rungs of motorsports, and all the rest of the dedicated stuff is in regular use. BTW, get 3" harnesses, not 2", except the sub straps are usually 2".
The sub straps should not be bolted to the floor. Loop them under your thighs (I run them under my seat padding, above the shell of the seat) then back out the side of the seat (I had to cut holes in mine to make it happen) to the same mounting points as the lap belts. This makes the lower portion of the harness function just like a parachute or rapelling harness, works much better, no slack. These are also reinforced points in the body designed to take these loads, unlike the floorpan. Naturally the shoulder belts you just get with the loop ends and loop them over the rollbar.

Amusing - RJS is my local safety stuff company! They're local to the Detroit area, my harness is from RJS. Good stuff. I have the blue 6-pt harness.
