The president addresses Congress and the nation from the House chamber. Sen. James Webb (D-Va.) gives the Democratic response.
Any thought reactions.. of the outcome.

Only 727 days to go...

So, he wants to spend 1.6 billion U.S. dollars over the next ten years to investigate alternative fuels. And apparently another 2 billion U.S. dollars, again over the next decade, to increase ethanol production. As well, he wants you Yanks to reduce your oil consumption by 20%! All seems very noble and altruistic...

Then you find out that his troop increase in Iraq will cost fourteen billion U.S. dollars PER YEAR over five years! 70 billion over half a decade! On top of the third-of-a-trillion or whatever he's already spent in the last four years.

Makes you wonder, eh? Anyways, I'm just about to listen to his speech on BBC World News. Should be interesting.

Shhhh. Der Führer hört alles, dass Sie sagen. The Gestapo is monitoring this post now. You don't want any heat from the FBI. I don't want to associate with this post. The last guy who critized the regime is still missing.

Danke. Man versucht. Ich habe noch Schwierigkeiten, auf Deutsch zu sprechen.
I can read and write German, but what keeps me from being fluent is my speaking ability. It is easy to learn a language on paper, but the number one way to learn is cultural immersion. I don't have enough cash for a trip to ze Vaterland right now.

A good way to polarize an auto forum is to start talking politics. I've seen it ruin an email list and wouldn't like it to happen here. Maybe it's time to start an off topic forum similar to Rennlist.

Actually he was praised for sticking to guns stating his beliefs on the
subject of terrorism and the alkydia leaders such osama bin loden
& the need for our troops to be there.

This board will never become concentrated about conflicting
contrasting positions.. never theres too much freedom on this board

I definitely do not want to fuel a political debate/flame war here and I hope no-one takes this out of context because I think it's genuinely interesting. I was going to post it in the joke thread but then I realised it's more sad than funny. Frankly, I find it a little bit scary. I thought George W. Bush was always a bit of a bumbler but apparently not;

Ten years ago to today...

And on a lighter note...
