I know this is ho-hum for a lot of you guys, but this NEVER happens here. We have about 6 inches, and Portland has screeched to a halt. It looks to continue snowing for the next 18 hours. . .

Ho-hum indeed. We've been snow covered since October. Looks pretty but in reality it is a huge pain in the ass.

Snow is really not as fun as it looks. We have had one of the warmest winters ever here in Michigan and then we get about 6in of ice dumped on us and tons of snow. Now i have to abandon all the half finished projects that wont fit in the barn and wait for it to thaw.

The only time I ever see snow is on TV and Christmas oops Holiday Season cards.

I live further up near the Canadian border. Since I live in 30 miles from Mt Baker, it snows like crazy here. I am tired of this winter. I have lost time at work because I am stranded on the mountain. I drive my 924 on the ice roads, and it does okay. The snow is not much of a problem. I wish they knew how to take care of the roads in the Northwest---like plowing and salting. Washington is dumb- they use gravel and barely scrape the road.

wow, you know I left vancouver to work in mexico thinking that I would not have to deal with crappy weather except possibly in the september area, well I just drove from manuel benividos, to ojinaga (presidio border crossing), then to chihuahua city. From the time I left MB it has snowed the whole way, and has stuck to the ground. I was passing people like mad as they were all going slow, but there were a couple of interesting times that got Cbass, and my heart racing alittle higher than normal, as we were driving we say a semi, and a pickup off the road. It also got alittle iffy when the truck decided to go SIDEWAYS along the road, thankfully I was able to correct it and keep our heading.

But I mean snow in mexico!!!!

Hey Hawk, is that cord holding your muffler up or hatch down?

EDIT: Oh, wait, now I see the tarp. . .

I was -36 here today on the Atlantic coast. It's much cooler than the -45 I felt in dry Alberta. This kind of cold chills you in about 3 seconds and stays with you all day.

A colleague of mine in Salt Lake City area woke up to THIS in his back yard last night:

Drunk driver. Fortunately, they missed the house, and no one was hurt.

what was the penalty for the drunk driver? here you get good years of jailtime for that kind of thing.

Here it varies by State. In any event, it just happened last night, so no knowing what the penalty may end up being. Could be a slap on the wrist, community service, jail time, probation, anything. Who knows. Probably not a year in jail though.
