Well its into its second season now with no odd noises or freeplay having been generated.

The car has been great on the fast tracks winning 5 out of 6 events but on a recent hillclimb the limitations of the griper unit showed up.

Exiting faster corners the car drifts and the unit clearly works helping the power to go down. However on the tighter lower speed corners when the car is loading up the outside wheel its less effective and I suspect the compromise of the design shows through giving less gain over stock.

This may be due to some wear sneaking in now so could be a liitle unfair as it seemed better on hills last year. However looking at how others grip (Sbass is going great for a new car/driver) the phantomgrip does seem limited.

That said it has worked well for me overall, owes me very little and seems a good cheap compromise solution for those short of the much higher cost of the other options. $300 is hard to argue with!

will photo it when it comes out in a couple of weeks.

bit busy rebuilding the front after an off at the recent hilclimb!

cheers
simon

Simon,

I think it's fair to say you and your car are well gelled. At both meetings, i must admit to being very impressed with you pace. Shame it will all end sooner than you wish!!
I have been vey impressed with the performance of my Quaife LSD. Seems to give really good traction out of tighter corners, and allows nice progressive drifts once the back starts to slide.
Roll on Cadwell!!

Well its been a few years now

You are going very well, close on times given the car is new.

The setups, the tracks and particulalrly the hills take some learning.

I do expect you to overtake me, eventually.........2009 perhaps

Cheers
Simon
