Hey, I know I'm new to this place, but has nobody installed an ECOTEK CB-26P in their 924? This noisy little unit really seems to do everything which it lays claim to do! As usual, nothing which says "Universal" or, SIMPLY...do the following...ever seems to be the simple solution on 924s!!! However, after a couple of reasonably simple adjustments to hose diameters, and a few minutes tuning the valve , I drove merilly away into the sunset and what do you know!!!...the bloody thing actually works! I can't give any dino figures, but I can tell you throttle response was definitely and noticeably up, Up, UP!!! No need to ask a doctor if you are feeling better... YOU KNOW!!!
I think I'm going to go 924 Owners Club and post this very same message to let everybody know, it might have been burnt to death before I joined, but hey, every little bit helps!!! |

Hi,Morghen. The valve basically works as follows:
1): collapses the manifold vacuum allowing briefly for richer mixture on the re-application of a trailing throttle - improved throttle response.
2): Creates off-throttle turbulence - acceleration smoother and more urgent.
This thing works for me and for practically no money (about £65/£70 including Pipercross filter!!!)
Check it out at http://www.ecotekplc.com
Good luck! |

interesting , but it is only a check valve and crankcase air filter.
a good quality airline check valve, has an adjustable spring seat, which you can adjust by turning in and out, this sets the "crack pressure" of the check valve, normally done with an allen screw. They cost about $10
will it also fizz up my beer, with those micro bubbles, then I might be interested |

Although I haven't strictly kept track, I'm pretty sure mileage has improved, as I seem to be driving it harder and visiting the petrol station less!!! I'll try and get some pix sorted. It also looks very smart and brightens up the engine bay, so, hey!
It doesn't really matter what it's "only"...simple ideas are often the best. The point is that it works and for practically no money (Of course don't expect to have to undergo whiplash surgery on your neck after installing!!! Be reasonable!) |

the thing is the MOT tests they did for emissions, are usually done with the motor idling.(was when I was last in the UK)
The instructions for setting the valve up are basically;
'"adjust the crack pressure so that at idle it is just closed, it says "turn in until the vibrating sound stops"
therfore at idle the valve is closed and doing nothing.
I'm not sure how this could have effected the tests done.
Dont worry about me Harry, I'm a total sceptic..........
but the effect they claim makes this work, is a as result of turbulence in the inlet manifold, the fuel is better atomised......BUT a fuel injected car doesn't have any fuel in the inlet manifold ????? |

Hi Morghen...
I have the photos to post, and you can't believe the problems I'm having! How the hell do I post them?
BTW, it seems such a waste to totally waste this unit to add extra bubbles in your beer! In my expert opinion, I have found that the best way to do this is by buying a brand new 6/12 pack...installing the ecotek, then shake the cans around violently, sit back, open up drink away and let it all happen!!! |

Hiya jack...sorry!...out of the box!...don't you thnk that although the fuel isn't actually there, the turbulence effect is actually CARRIED THROUGH?! At which point the turbulence happens should be, within reason, incidental, as the net result would be the same.
Hope you enjoy my beer suggestions...AND, do you know how to get into this bloody thing to post photos?! |

1. click on the Img button in your post it should put "open square bracket" Img "close square bracket"
2. then paste or type in the web address where your photos are
3.then click on the image button again it should put "open square bracket" /Img "close square bracket"
You can just type in the square bracket and address without using the buttons, as the buttons sometimes place the square bracket stuff in the wrong place
you have to already have the photos on the internet somewhere, you cant just upload them to the 924 web site.
Use one of the many free pic posting websites |

I think it creates a partial vacum inside of the car. This leads to oxygen starvation, which in the ensuing euphoria that you experience, has you thinking you haven't used any fuel, and that warp speed is approaching.

You just won't let it rest, will you, Outofthebox! I can assure you that I am not suffering from O2 starvation. Neither, indeed, am I suffering from any type of euphoria. Check out my last post...don't expect...whiplash surgery...etc....! What's your problem? With a mouth that size, don't just use it to drink beer and dribble s**t! Use it to order one of these little things, install it and then talk!!! Anyway, thanks for the info to post pix...I can assure you it was easier to install your obviously HATED little unit! |

Harry your camera software should allow you to "SAVE AS", then choose "FILE TYPE", then choose "JPG".
The file type you have used is a BMP.
If you post a JPG type file then you can post directly into the forum.
Hey! you engine bay is neat, I like ! but I'm no fan of blue, can you get that spiral wrap stuff, in black ? |
