I have a 85 euro 924. I was wondering if i am better off getting a good port job and increasing the valve size in the stock head and getting a higher lift cam to get some power
Or get a 931 head and do it that way? also did the 931's have a restrictive head like the 924?
Or am i just better off dropping in a 931 engine with turbo and what not, if i can find one.
Which one will give me the most power for my money? _________________ Go hard or go home |

You can do any of the above for more power. These engine don't respond very well to power adders unless they are force fed. That said, the biggest bang for the buck will come from an add-on turbo or supercharger. If you do a little research here you will find this subject has been beat to death.

i wasnt sure if the head of a 931 was as restrictive as the 924..... And wouldnt a value job help with the flow more? or are the tolerances of the head not enough to make a worth while difference? _________________ Go hard or go home |

No a 931 head flows better... but a little porting of the 924 head helps if by nothing else port matching the gaskets to the head and manifolds...
Increasing valves and cam grinds also help....
Just keep in mind if you swap to the 931 head then you'll need the intake manifold as well... not sure if the 924 exhaust manifold will bolt to the 931 head....
It would help if you had a budget, skills power goal in mind to answer about dropping in a turbo engine.... your talking about a bit of work as you'll need a 931 front cut to do the job properly...
read the FAQs and then search the board for projects people have completed... this may help your decision...
