I have a 1980 NA 924 with dual Dell Orta carbs. I've had the car for about a year now and I'm finally starting to sort the engine out. The car sat for 5 yrs in a barn. When I first got it I cleaned the fuel tank and replaced the fuel lines and fired it up, but it ran really rough. Recently I have replaced the plugs, plug wires, disb cap and rotor. Today I fired it up again and I have found that cylinders 3 and 4 are not firing. My engine experience has mostly been with small engines due to my past hobby of kart racing.

So where do I start to sort out the issue with cylinders 3 and 4? (New disb?)

Thanks in advance for any help.

Spark, compression, and fuel.

If you have spark and compression, more than likely the jets in the aft carb are plugged.

Forgot to mention that I also have pulled the carbs and cleaned them. I'm going to check for spark on cylinders 3 and 4. Again, the engine cranks and runs, but when plug 3 and 4 are pulled there is no difference in the way the engine runs. So I guess you could say that I'm running a 2 cylinder engine (sounds like a John Deere 430).

Is there unburnt fuel in the cylinders? If so, ignition problem.

If not, since you are running carbs, I would say that because you are experiencing problems with these two cylinders, and they operate off the one carb, I would suspect that carb is causing a problem with fuel delivery. Keep in mind that cleaning is not quite the same as rebuilding.
