First race of the season is this weekend at Waterford Hills, and it'll be our first foray into ITB... looks like some of the big boys may not even be there, so it may be just us playing with the rotary boys (IT7). We'll be a bit behind, off the pace from last year potentially, due to lack of some critical suspension parts (backordered spacers from H+R), but that will only slow us down, not keep us from racing. Besides, it's only the difference between the stock spiderwebs and the late-offset phonedials. We'll be using the same 225/45/15 Hoosiers as always. Hmmm. That's the same offset. Maybe we don't need those spacers? I'd better take another look! LOL

On the plus side, we've got a fresh new exhaust to keep us under the limit (and keep my grey matter from oozing out my ears after more than 15 miles), so removing the need to short-shift may make up for the slight loss of track.

We also have to raise the car, it's a bit on the low side (1/4"); hopefully that won't hose up the alignment bad enough...

Hauled ass in practice/qual, snagged the ITB pole by nearly 2 sec... then pissed it away on the first race lap thank to lousy tire choice, eventually dumping it into the tires with a couple laps to go trying for a pass without enough room.

Not gonna run those Michelins again. Sticking with the Hoosiers from now on!

Tomorrow AM race is gonna be a scream - starting way in the back, nearly have the entire pack to charge through! It'll be fun, if I don't wad it up in the process! First lap or two will be something to watch!

Hope I have video working by then...

Sunday AM race, gridded 14th, 11th in class... charged all the way through the pack to take 4th in class. Would've had 3rd but for an ass of a brain-donor in a Rustang blocked me blatantly. 'Sokay, I was faster anyway. PM race, gridded 2nd in class, lost 2nd on the start, lotta tight racing first 3 laps solid, then worked side-by-side with a good Rustang driver for 3 corners straight till I pulled clear and regained the spot (he got the jump on the start with others). So held strong for 2nd in class.

ITB sure is a lot more fun!!!

Car was still working better than the driver, track was cold and loose, lotta work to stay on the black stuff but FUN FUN FUN!!!

Video at 11. (well, once we get it downloaded and synched with data)

The one guy in front of me is a good friend driving a 320 Bimmer, good guy, good driver, gonna be fun chasing him - though I've still got a good second or two to rip off before I'm on his pace!

Gonna be a helluva season!

Sorry for the massive delay; here's the photos finally posted from the PREVIOUS race weekend:

I'm still trying to get the video sorted out, not to mention the past weekends photos... though Dan's already done better than any of us with the photos!
