Here's a weird but very frustrating problem. All of my parking lights and side markers work now (just some bad bulbs and bulb socket connections). The problem is that the parking lights and side markers on the passenger's side are always on! When I flip the switch the other side comes on as it should. This car is a 5 year project that I'm just now trying to finish up for PA inspection, so I've never used it on a regular basis. That's why I am only now for the first time discovering this problem. I can't believe after all of the major work I've done on this car, that now I'm hung up on the stupid lights! Oh yeah, my headlight motor problem is back too. I have to spin the manual knob till it gets halfway before it kicks in. I thought it was just out of sync with the activator arm but I guess that wasn't it.

Lights on on one side - check your turn signal lever? If mine isn't centered, lights stay on on whatever side the turn signal lever is selecting with the car off and the light switch off. They won't blink - just stay on.
Headlight motor - I have finicky headlights. I've found that the relay has to be positioned just right for them to work. Instead of turning the knob, try jiggling the relay. If that gets it going, you have the same problem I have. Once it's positioned right though, it won't give you any trouble. Mine's been ok for years, but; I could go out right now and mess it up just by moving that relay - then I could fix it again just by moving it again, but; I'm not going to bother doing that - just give yours a jiggle and see

You were right, my turnsignal switch was not centered. That seems so simple but I never would have thought of that since the ignition was off (key not even IN the ignition) and the lights were not blinking. I think you are also right about the headlights. I jiggled the relay (alot!) and they finally worked. Unfortunately, they soon quit again. It seems like the problem area is actually beyond the relay, under the rubber cover. I'll remove that later today and look for something loose or corroded. Thanks!

that's a fairly standard euro car thing for park lights. You usually start remembering after you come back to the car the second or third time to a dead battery after leaving the parks on all day.
Still, I suppose as 98% of drivers don't know what turn signals are actually for it probably doesn't effect many people.
