Yeah, rather amusing how he talks about the "genuine Porsche engine, not the Audi engine"... WTF...

Still, the car looks beautiful...

Yeah, I agree. Nice lookin'. Can't tell if it has four bolt or 5 bolt wheels. At the price, it's a good buy right now. Looks well kept. Anyone know if the interior is original? I mean, if the color scheme is factory? I'm not familiar with the "S" model of that year.

Zuffen: The VIN is on there too, if you need it.

That's definitely 4-bolt - apparent in the photos later on in the page.

The colors look factory to me...

It's a 924 Weissach that Porsche used to commemorate their 50th anniversary. "S" back then meant it had the 5-bolt suspension. The Weissach didn't have much special except those wheels on it. Maybe the tweed uphostery too.

The interesting thing is that not many were made. According to the links to production numbers, only 1015 were made. I've been told this doesn't necessarily mean it is worth more right now, but later...

My home PC monitor blew a gasket so I'm using the work unit. SO Catch me at work for anything

I looked at the car on ebay and am having the owner send me a copy of the certificate.

I'll check the vin to see if it has anything noteworthy, but the option codes inthe back are what really matter. The car might have had the 944 engine from the factory,but highly unlikely. I have never seen any write up about that option.

The Weissach cars as far as I know where only available with 4 bolt, Gaboon grey, they had the turbo wheels and spoiler , mud flaps and a special color scheme interior.

Nothing really special and I have seen one up close, but don't remember anything special

The certificate is real. Number 66 of 400



Maybe the outside wasn't gaboon gray but metallic gray.

I don't remember the interior on the other weissach, but the way this car looks it on the inside, it could be the interior.

Kinda of like a tuxedo interior, but maybe the interior wasn't a part of the limited edition.

I have # 50 IIRC. Don't have car with me right now. I didn't get that fancy certificate when I bought it...unless it's hidden somewhere. The number should also be on a small brass plate on the glovebox door, along with another repro of what I think is ol' Ferry's signature. If you squint real hard you can see it in the photo.

These cars have the same paint as Vaughan's 931: platinum metallic. Interior is mostly chocolate brown with cloth seats (ch. brown, tweed centers) and tan tweed door panels. These things were loaded with all options except those that are performance oriented. Mine has only a front swaybar (20-21?). It looks fairly complete. Only thing I notice different is that there are aftermarket speakers fitted fitted to the doors.

I paid $925 for mine in non-running condition (easily fixed). This one seems to be in much better condition.

Look in the book "The original Porsche 924" by Peter Morgan. The LTD edtions are discribed very well in this Porsche 924 bible.
I think the seats are covered. Otherwise this car is cheap!

The pics on the eBay listing are accurate. The VINs all matched up and it does indeed have the standard 924 engine. It has 4 lug rear drum brakes. The body is in great condition, though it has been repainted. I couldn't verify that the odometer worked, the dash is very cracked, and the driver seat bolstering is worn down. Other than that the interior is very brown which, to me, always looks dirty. BTW, I did not see toe Weissach identification on the dash, but every bit of paperwork, including the original bill of sale, is there.
This car cost $22K new. Damn, these things were expensive! That's the cost of a new M3 today!

So this doesn't have some special engine? Just the usual Audi/AMC?

Yeah bacook, according to the title, my 931 went for $26 K new. That was a lot of money in 1980.
