I know I'm going to get jumped all over by the "purists", but I ordered the rear section of the wide body kit today from IFC to put on my 931. I got the wide rear fenders and the rear bumper.

I got 944 front fenders a week ago, and I'm still trying to decide which front bumper/valance I want to get (will most likely go with the carrera gt style one).

I know some of you are going to say "why don't you just get a 944 if you want wide fenders"........the answer is, I don't want a 944....I like paying $36 a month for insurance on the 931, but I want it to look snazzier.....and I've already got some concept neeper wheels sitting around in my garage that are perfect for the wide body kit.

This will bring my grand total for money spent on the 931 at just UNDER $2500

Alex, it looks like you are going to have to find some pretty wide rims to fit your mod. Other than that, all I can say is it looks "mean"

Alex: Yeah baby! Nice...

I hope you can keep us all informed on how this kit works for you. I'd be interested in trying my hand at it if I can afford it. What's the price?

Man, that looks very nice!

hmmmm. I probably shouldn't say how much I talked him down, but the normal prices are $499 for the rear fenders, and $499 for the rear bumper. These are the pieces from www.allporsche.com

I think the le mans fenders look like absolute shite, except for a race car. Those open ended backs look horrible to me. The wide body kit is 2" wider than the stock 944 fenders on each side, just like the le mans fenders, and it looks HOT!

Are you going to use 10-12" rear wheels?

I haven't completely decided yet. I doubt I'll go that wide, it's too much friction. I'll probably end up with 8" or 9" on the rear.

Alex, I think that it looks really cool. Though I like the Le Mans rear fender flares I think that these are a real close second. I agree though that on a street car these are the best. I'm probably going to put on a D prod body kit on mine though. A good bit narrower so more speed for the given HP.

Good luck and post more pics.

By the way, your avatar is freaking me out-- and the tongue thing doesn't help

thanks for the compliment on the avatar

I think that people on the street would laugh at anybody that had le mans rear quarters.....the front is hot, but the rear end view aesthetically is crap. The le mans quarters are definitely a case of function over form.
